Marketing with Social Networks

We often as business leaders are faced with how do we continue to compete in a faster and faster paced market.  The answer is never easy, there continues to be many more areas to connect with potential buyers of product and service but some standards still apply even when looking at these new methods of marketing:

  1. What worked in the past may not work going forward; the world changes as does the technology that people find time for in their day to day lives.
  2. Who is "My" target market; pick mediums that reach that target market, you don't have to be everywhere and on every social medium out there if it does not apply to your offering, or has a low propensity for your target to buy.
  3. Fads often change; blogging was all the media talked about last year, now we are all tweeting.  Stay abreast of the fad, move with it, but be prepared to change or modify with the particular fad that may be interesting to your market.
